Wedding planning is a long and stressful process. You have so many things you need to do, seemingly all at the same time. It’s your personal mission to ensure your wedding day is perfect. You want to remember it for the rest of your life. But in the midst of all the planning, it’s easy to forget about certain things. They may not seem like a priority, so we push them to the back of our mind. Here are four things you need to remember when planning a wedding:
Picture this: you’ve picked the prime outdoor location for your wedding, and everything is great. Then, on the day of your wedding, it rains. It doesn’t just rain; it pours. There’s no way you can have it outside now, so what do you do?! Well, hopefully, you’ve remembered to have a backup location in place for such a situation. This is only really necessary for an outdoor wedding- which are common in the summer. Make sure that if the worst happens, you’re prepared and can move the wedding inside somewhere.

All good weddings need a good DJ, but it can easily be forgotten. You’re so focussed on planning the style and theme of your wedding you forget about the entertainment. Hiring a DJ will require more work as you should interview prospective candidates. Don’t forget to find one with wedding experience, who knows all the great songs to play. A bad DJ could ruin your wedding reception with awful dubstep remixes. Don’t overspend on a DJ too, remember you can have a great wedding without spending huge sums of money.

One of the first things you need to remember are the invitations for your wedding. Wedding invitation planning is one of the most fun parts of planning a wedding. You can choose a unique style that’s personal to you. They’re a surprisingly big part of a wedding as they set the tone for it all. If you send out rubbish invitations, people aren’t going to have high hopes for your wedding!

Remember to tell guests if there’s a specific dress code. If you don’t want anyone to wear white, then tell them that in the invitations. If you want them to dress up in a specific theme, you need to remember to tell them. Don’t get mad when guests arrive in the wrong attire if you haven’t told them about it. Even if it’s a traditional wedding, you should make sure everyone knows what to wear. It’s easy to forget about this when you have a million and one other things to take care of too.

You want the whole wedding process to run smoothly, starting with the invites, and ending with the reception. If you feel like you have too many things on your plate, enlist the help of others. I know it’s your special day, and you want to plan everything, but sometimes you need help! Planning your wedding is hard work.. Don’t make things more stressful by forgetting these important things too.
